Just a random evening after work, I sit down with my phone and an intention to catch up with what’s new with people around me. I open up Instagram, only to find my news feed flooded with what seems like another “wedding season” ad by some exclusive ethnic wear brand. Flashes before my eyes a picture-perfect image of the debonair Virat Kohli and stunning Anushka Sharma, seated in a marriage ceremony, only this time of their own.

The caption below is a sappy note on how adorable the couple looks. Without much thought (which is after I was done admiring their elegant wedding attires) I scroll down only to find the same picture on every damn page. I think to myself – “Wow! This has to be the hottest couple this season. They feature in one ad and it makes into every lifestyle magazine/webpage that there is in the country.”

When reality hits –

It is only when I finally arrive at Virat’s own post (Yes, I follow Kohli!) that I go through the caption to realize that another eligible bachelor of the Indian cricket team has relinquished bachelorhood and gotten “hitched”. The declaration is on Twitter too, not to mention the unending Facebook posts people are making.
